3-D Graphics for the Entertainment Industry
12 December 2007, Wednesday, 7 pm
Mr Boris Menkov
Managing Partner
Rapan LLC
USA
Rapan LLC is in the business of creating computer graphics for the Web and the entertainment industry. Since we started the company in 1999 we have worked on over a dozen published game titles as well as on hundreds of web projects.
Our presentation for the Digital Spaces Programme will share our experience on the following subjects:
- What does it take to define a unique graphic style for a game?
- The importance of the pre-production phase is often underestimated. A good, well-defined concept is essential for smooth production.
- How do you fit within an established art style in production?
- Working in someone else's style is something that a lot of graphic artists plainly hate. Yet, a lot of professional opportunities depend on this ability. It is possible to remain creative and take the defined spec to a whole new artistic level.
- What makes a compelling character?
