Mass market product - a work of a man or a team that is used or otherwise consumed by tens of thousands up to billions of people or more.
Which was the first mass market product? How much of your daily life is spent with mass market products? What makes one popular? How to design one? Bear with me as we explore the design of mass market products and try to ask the right questions and nail down the correct answers.

Mr Gabriel Dobrev was born in 1975 in the town of Tutrakan on the Danube river. He fell in love with the magic world of computers when he was 11 years old. In 1992 he won a bronze medal in the International Competition in Informatics (Olympiada) and moved to Sofia to study Computer Science at FMI, Sofia University. In the following three years he took part in a number of real-world software projects including a simulation solution for the oil refinery Neftohim. In 1995 he joined Haemimont as a software developer. In the next several years he took various positions in that company including Lead Programmer, Project Manager, Chief Operating Officer and Division Manager. In 2000 he moved to the games division where he conceived and produced the Celtic Kings franchise which has sold more than 1 million copies worldwide. In 2003 he founded Haemimont Games (www.haemimontgames.com) where he contributes his vision and creative insight to every aspect of game creation: from design and production to programming and art.
His spare time he dedicates to his 9 year old daughter and his passion for rock climbing. |
