BA Degree Project
July 3rd - 6th
Business Design Centre, Islington
I had the honour of participating in the 39th edition of the New Designers show in summer 2024 at the Business Design Centre in Islington, showcasing my final BA project, AQ.
New Designers brings together over 3,000 emerging designers from more than 100 university courses across various disciplines, including fashion, textiles, fine art, photography, furniture, product design, and illustration.
I exhibited two prototypes of my final-year AQ wearable device indicator, including a large-scale, battery-powered prototype that ran air quality monitoring for 8 hours daily throughout the exhibition. My display also featured the AQ design booklet, my first exploded prototype, interactive acetone vials for visitors to test the device, and a large AQ wearable demo running Home Assistant to visualize air quality data in real time.
Our graduate year’s project catalogue, Connect, represents us coming together as a group of creators from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, expanding our individual understanding of the world. Connect is also what we want our users to do—whether that means connecting with themselves, their minds and bodies, or with the world around them and the conversations and interactions happening within it.
